San Jose’s City Hall: California futurism
What we have here is the long-awaited “Future” as realized by architect Richard Meier in San Jose, California's new City Hall — finished in 2005, photographed here in 2008:
It's found at 200 East Santa Clara Street in San Jose, California (Google map) — the so-called “Capital of Silicon Valley.”
As always, start at Wikipedia for more info about San Jose City Hall.

Nice. Is it just me, though, or does the dome not really resemble the one from the new German Parliament building done by Foster + Partners (1999)?

I should say so! Thanks for pointing that out.

The future lasts forever... This building screams technocratic administration, down to the way it looks like it's trying to prevent popular access

i think its quite nice inside tho it is very modern, so if youre looking for some classic-style rotunda, you might be disappointed. however be sure to check in on whats done to the dome every two years for the 01sj tech festival. they usually hand city hall over to an international artist. the first year it was a kaleidoscope effect. very cool. this year it was giant tentacles. pretty interesting.
